Hot Damn!!

About a year ago I posted my findings on DSW, otherwise known as Dust Storm Warning which can be read here if You missed it. Well the Band recently released their first LP and lucky me, Luca from Acid Cosmonaut Records sent in some info and links for this Great Stoner Rock Band. The Band has matured and the production on this LP is top notch as well. Excellent song writing on the new material make this one a must have and the Band will probably find themselves on a few year end lists...

Right through the thick of it...

Burweed are a Finnish Post-Metal Band that recently dropped their four song release in the mail titled "Eyes Down South". I have to say, this is some pretty damn good work. Tons of atmosphere and melody give way to chugging Guitars and Drums that'll crush your skull in.  Solid tunes and Highly Recommended. get it now!!!

Besides traditional blues, plenty of blues based rock calls Chicago home too. Artists such as Velcro Lewis and The Mediums reign supreme. You can add Wild Jesus & The Devil's Lettuce to that list.There's plenty of great blues based rock to keep you going for days. Probably longer than cocaine would. "After coming together in the fall of 2011, all four members of Mouth had taken their unique individual styles and woven them together into a few luscious tracks. The band called upon sound engineer/producer Siegfried Meier to capture these fierce tunes and get them down on a recording. On Dec. 17, 2011, Mouth made the trip up to Beach Road Studios and recorded all three tracks in one day. Edge Of Reason, Predator And Prey and Stubborn Stain were all recorded live off the floor, ensuring that the songs maintained the organic, live texture they had developed as they were written and rehearsed. "Tombosley it’s a project born in 2001, when 4 friends decide to start what will become a great adventure.
From 2001 to 2006 the band plays a lot of gigs, sharing the stage with some Italian stoner rock band like That’s All Folks, Ojm, Vortice Cremisi. In 2005 they record their song “I’m Worried” for the compilation produced by C.S.A Grottakapovolta, Grottaminarda, Avellino, Italy.
During the spring of 2006, their first demo comes out produced by Garage Records, Avellino. During the winter of the same year, they record their first album, which will see the light in 2009 for Beard Of Stars Records, Savona, Italy.
In the meantime, something in the band changes. Marco, the first Tombosley bass player, leaves the band. He will be replaced by Vic, who shares with the band studio, stage, fuzz and bar of the pub from April 2007.
In 2009, their song “Little lover big gun” was chosen for the Italian Heavy Psych, Doom, Stoner Rock compilation Desert Sound 3, produced By Perkele.it , the Italian stoner rock portal, with band like Doomraiser, Zippo, Black Rainbows, Mydriasi.

Witchgaze

Is/Is is like a field full of baby deer. The band looks sweet and docile from a distance, but up close, you find yourself amidst a frenzied, bleating, beautiful mess. Is/Is is punctuated by pounding bass riffs, grooved out drum beats and layered guitar fuzz. Ethereal, almost disaffected vocals sweep over everything, forming a loose, dreamy package that is, at times, almost disorienting.

Once upon a time, somewhere between two states, four guys and a girl decided to unite their musical talents to form a rock'n'roll band.
One night after a show they met a weird old guy in a bar.
He was calling himself "Mad Dog" but his real name was John Ringsdale.
Whisky, beers, more whisky, the guy started to tell stories about his past life as a stuntman.
One of the story was about three chicks who were calling themselves "The Pussy Riders".
John told us that he was after them because they stoled his favorite car. A 1975 black Firebird !!
Around 4:30 in the morning "Mad Dog" left without saying goodbye.
We were exausted and kinda drunk but our heads were full of John's amazing stories.
The next day,after a long talk over this strange night,we all decided to rename our band "Hell Of A Ride" !!!!
So from now on,our only wish and desire will be to play our music,hit the road and ride from dusk till dawn....

Yes, the music is as bad ass as the logo!!!
